Just a larger JDM STi hoodscoop and bigger air splitter. 8-)

It's actually the factory version of the scoop that comes on the 01-02 WRX STi in Japan. Since it's about an inch taller, it fits a larger air splitter thats also wider to accomodate the larger STi topmount intercooler.

Ummm...really? I can't believe I have to explain this. JDM=Japanese Domestic Market, meaning that it was factory over there. There were a ton of cars/engines/interior parts/suspension/etc that were on cars over there that weren't on our cars over here. In Teets's case, we never got an '01-'03 Bugeye style WRX STI here. They did over there. He is getting the scoop off of one for his to make it better...there's no American vs Jap parts about it. He just wants better factory parts that were never available here. So, if you are with me so far there is no such thing as JDM parts for anything other than Japanese-made vehicles. There are also JDM aftermarket parts, meaning aftermarket parts that they can get for their cars over there that we cannot get here.

There are no JDM parts for DSMs. Why? Because they were never made in Japan, they were made here in Illinois. Yes, the term gets thrown around alot, like some ghetto vendors calling aftermarket clear tail lights for a Camaro a JDM part. No, it's not real JDM, they are just using the term to describe it's style. They are also just trying to use the term for marketing purposes, thinking that it will sell more parts for some reason. Guess what? There's also GDM (German Domestic Market), UKDM (United Kingdom), USDM (United States)etc. This is really going to blow your little mind, there are actual EUDM (European Market) tail lights available for 4th Gen Camaros with amber turn lenses in them! OMG! No Camaros were never built in Europe, but they were exported to there and needed to meet their highway laws and standards. Which is the main reason that Japanese cars get stripped of the cooler stuff when they come to the USDM, they can't meet our safety and emissions standards.

JDM has been way over used. I am tired of EVO people,or people in general, saying how they bought "JDM" parts and that is all they buy. As stupid as they are they buy them thinking that this is the only product to buy. SonicYeller is prime example of what to buy. A part that was not offered. Not some dumb ass that buys an exhaust system that says it is "JDM". Just to find out it is a knock off and serves no purpose what so ever. That's it I am buying JDM window tint!!!

I don't understand what if wrong with it... if you like the JDM parts and are willing to pay the outrageous prices, why not?

My point exactly. Thank you 90talontsi. I agree with you. The JDM crap is getting out of control.
